My son killed two his first time out when he was nine needless to say that didn't help his patience. Great pics and great job getting a youngster out there. ::)

Been Waiting for pic's to post. Still havent got them yet. He messed up and ran a doe a little to close to me in a grass feild. The shot was hard quartering away and 145 yards. I hit him about 10 inches from his back hams and the slug barley sliced the skin on his neck!! He went 25 yards and was wobbling to his right. Then down for the count. This is the first wallhanger I have killed in a few years. Been waiting on a big boy. He has 9 points and only 14 inches wide. But he has mass and lots of tine length. His beams are both over 26 inches long and he has great brow tines. Even some palmation on his right side. The deer is very big bodied. I hope the pictures show it. I am 6 foot 3 and 350 lbs myself so I tend to make stuff look small. We took a quick score on him and he is around 150 inches!! We arent scorers so we may be a little off one way or the other. I am stoked!!!!

Well Since I killed a great buck already I was just going with the flow at our hunting lease. I took a stand on a last minute decision since nobody was going there. I was setup by 3:15pm. I am hunting a 4 foot by 8 foot box blind and can see 3 different directions. I placed my H&R out the right window facing the corn pile. We only put one corn pile so we can have a deffinate wind to hunt. I text a few of my budddys. One of wich spent 5 hours in the same stand that morning. I looked out the right window then looked out the front and a buck stepped out. I could tell he was wide and had good brow tines. The lane he was crossing is barley wide enough to get a truck down. We actually have to pull the mirrors in. I grabbed my gun and took aim and just before he got into the other side I dropped the hammer. It was and 80 yard shot. The deer bucked and dissapeared. It was starting to rain so I decided to reload and go find blood. I figured the sighn wouldnt be that good since the deer was quartering away and I had to shoot him back to get a good exit in the vitals. No blood at all. I could smell where he was when he crossed the lane and then I found the pine needles all kicked up. I followed them like that every 5 feet and there was my buck. He is 22 inches inside spread and dressed out 175 lbs. He isnt very tall or heavy but wide and has great 7 inch brow tines. What a happy camper. My taxidermist aged him at 4 1/2 years old.
